Day 242
Reading: Zechariah 7:1 - Zechariah 10:12
I don't know whether you have been a place where it was so dry that you cried for rain. I remember once we had a drought which led to a famine. No rain led to no food for an entire region of the world. It got so bad that the whole world turned to see how to aid the people who lived in that region. The world came together and raised loads of money to feed the hungry. Just recently we had one of the driest summers ever in the West. I don't take for granted that I have been privileged to visit and live in different continents of the world. However, I have come to realise that a drought is no respecter of geography. When a drought hits there is only one thing to cry for. It is Rain.
If ever there was a time to cry for the Lord's rain on the earth it is now. The day and age we are living in is one where hearts are battling issues that a mind-boggling. Goal posts are being moved today. We have believers who believe only in certain sections of the Bible calling some stories that don't make sense. Our faith is being fought left, right, centre, from within and outside. If ever there was a time God needed to visit His people to bring soundness of heart and righteousness in our families, cities, businesses, governments and nations, it is now.
When the Lord sends His rain over His people, they will be restored to a greater glory. The rain of God will bring such a blessing that one's life will be turned inside out. Gideon encountered the rain of God and moved from the cave to becoming a leader. Get set to see the Lord move His children from the caves to prominence.
The rain of God brings conviction leading to repentance. The Psalmist declared that nations will bow and worship the Lord Psalms 86:8-9. The catalyst to see God do a great work in our midst is repentance. God answered Solomon and told him that when God's people cry to him, see His face, pray, turn from their wicked way then He shall send rain 2 Chronicles 7:14. When our hearts are given to God then we experience His rain.
God's rain separates us from the rest. When we are showered with the rain of God, our enemies are afflicted because as God restores He also protects His own. Zechariah prophesied and said a day was coming where ten men would pull a child of God to follow him because they will have heard of the doings of God. May this day hasten to arrive.
Memory Verse: Zechariah 9:11-12
Decree:
Zechariah 10:1
Ask the Lord for rain in the time of the latter rain. The Lord will make flashing clouds; He will give them showers of rain, grass in the field for everyone. (italics mine)
