Warfare For Manifestation

Day 118

Reading: 1 Chronicles 17:1 - 1 Chronicles 20:8

Do you know that God speaks? Yes, He does. God desires the best for you and me. When God speaks it is for our good. Once God has spoken we have a responsibility. That responsibility is to pray the promise into manifestation. God cannot fail in delivering His promises. God promises and delivers on the promise. The question then is why do we not see the promise fulfilled? Saul was anointed by God to become king and yet he never fulfilled the expectations. David on the other hand is regarded as the greatest king of Israel ever.

David on being established as the king and having secured his kingdom desired to build a house for God. He couldn't stand staying in a palace whilst God was in a tent. He expressed his desire to the prophet Nathan who tells him to do as he desires. However, that night God speaks to the prophet and sent him to David. David was instructed not to build as his son would build the House of God, however, his desire had endeared God and he was promised that his descendants would seat as kings on the throne.

The response of David was not only one of praise but one of prayer. He prayed on hearing the Words of God. Here was a man who slew Goliath, saw victories in battle bowing in prayer to thank God for the prophecy and to intercede for its manifestation.

Don't expect God's word to just happen without your cooperation in the place of prayer. You and I must battle on our knees to see God's promise come to pass. The reign of David is one filled with battles as he established the kingdom and terrified the enemies of God's people into submission. The greatest lessons one can learn from David about his walk with God is that he understood that he had his part to play to see the will of God established.

What were the tools of David's warfare to establish the prophecy?
  • Praise. David on hearing God's response gave thanks, praising God for His goodness. In times of trouble, we forget that praise is a weapon of warfare. Let your mouth stop talking about the trouble and introduce God to the situation by giving Him praise.
  • Prayer. David was a man who consistently we see enquired of God to know the mind of God regarding life situations. And even when God answered him he prayed. David didn't just pray to find solutions. He prayed to establish promises.
  • Patience. When God told him that he wouldn't be the one to build, David set about saving for what his son would do. David was patient, not running ahead of the program or agenda of God.
  • Persistence. David understood that success in seeing the promise manifested requires persistence. You cant pray today and tomorrow forget or speak carelessly.
  • Partnership. David was surrounded by people who were giant killers also. Have people who are able to contend with your promises.
Memory Verse: 1 Chronicles 17:23

Decree:

"And now, O Lord, the word which You have spoken concerning Your servant and concerning his house, let it be established forever, and do as You have said" 1 Chronicles 17:23(italics mine)

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
