Covenant with Eyes

Day 148

Reading: Job 31:1 - Job 34:37

The world we are living is moved a lot by sight. What you see will determine where you go. You don't drive in reverse gear for a long journey. What you see in front will either attract you or repel. We need to understand the power of sight and what governs your sight.

Gentlemen, you can make a covenant with your eyes to not see all the skirt wearers seeking to divert your attention from your spouse. You have to take responsibility on what your eyes are fixated to. Understand that you have to decide what or who you will look to see. It's your responsibility to decide to be faithful to your spouse. This also goes to the ladies. Yes, the man now has camouflaged his body stop looking at all the young men baring their chests and you are admiring the six pack.

When you find yourself looking at others lustfully understand that the enemy is seeking to destroy you. Learn to question your thoughts that are directing your sight? As the young man in Job 31:1 asked why should I look at the young woman? He understood that if he constantly looked at her he would be introducing sin to his household.

We live in a world driven by lusts. We find many want a better car because their friends have a new car. This is lust not need driving a person. Your desire to compete so as to be seen as successful is the road to destruction.  How does one subdue what they see and rule over the thoughts that are introduced by all the sights we see?

Learn to allow the Spirit of God to sift your thoughts. Your spirit man needs to receive the breath of God to have an understanding. Unless you are yielded to God's Spirit you cannot enjoy the life of God. God gives His Spirit to manifest God's Word.

Why should you learn to live a yielded lifestyle to God's Spirit? The Spirit of God makes one and the breath of the Almighty gives us life. When you understand that the reason you are alive is that God has made it possible you will choose to see what is pleasing to Him. Determine to see only what God desires or pleases him. Make a covenant with your eyes that you will only see what brings honour to God.

Memory Verse: Job 33:4

Decree:

Now is....

Everyday I seek to share something that I have learnt through the daily reading. I make a choice to discipline myself not to write too much as we inundated with a lot of reading material. Feel free to add comments because that way we share and thus encourage one another to grow into the fullness of Christ. Today I am amazed at the fact that God will always remember His covenant and fulfill the promise. I want to list five words in the order they appear in one scripture that showed God is at work in our lives. Remembered : My God will never forget me. To be delayed is not to be denied as God will surely remember. God spoke and said to Sarah that He would return at the appointed time; at the right season!!! I do believe that we are in a season where we will see God begin to act on the promises that seem forgotten. Or better put in another way there is a resurrection of seemingly forgotten prophecies that is about to take place. Dry bones are beginning to take shape. Listened : No longer ...

Blessing or ....

To live well is one thing we all desire. I have never met anyone who did not want to live well. By living well for some people it means helping others. For others it means having a successful business. Yet for others it means travelling the world. I have discovered that it is not money that empowers but the blessing of God that empowers. Money is simply one of the many ways that the effects of the blessing may show up. Many times today in society we confuse money with being blessed yet people like Mother Teresa did not flaunt money but her life still is blessing many people round the world. The book of Deuteronomy has challenged me to desire to be blessed. Anyone who has walked with the blessing of God in their live has seen doors open that are a struggle for others. Yesterday I wrote about obedience. What obedience opens our lives to is the operation of the blessing. By choosing to obey the Word we are choosing to open our lives to be blessed. The purpose of being blessed is not self ...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
