The Hand Of God

Day 158

Reading: Psalms 81:1 - Psalms 90:17

Who doesn't want God involved in their affairs? Yes, I understand there are those who don't believe in God. However, for those who believe that God is real and more than able to affect my affairs here on earth, we desire that His hand be in our lives. Whilst reading the Psalms we discover that many times the psalmists cried to God for His hand to be involved in their lives.

The Psalmist understood that dominion in life was only possible if the hand of God obtained the land for them. The Psalmist records that the children of Israel obtained the land by the Hand of God. Yes, they fought wars to possess the land as we have seen in the book of Joshua however, they understood that the reason they were victorious is not that of a superior army but God being with them and fighting for them. The classic example is the fall of Jericho where the walls came crumbling down in a supernatural manner. The Hand of God in your live enables the supernatural to take place and help accomplish the goal.

You have a responsibility to ask God to lift His hand for you in battle Psalms 10:12. The Psalms are full of prayers to God for deliverance. One prayer I have learnt is to ask for God's hand to repay the trouble and grief caused to the helpless and fatherless Psalsm 10:14. God's hand is for justice. Desire that God's justice is upon your affairs. Let God show you His loving kindness by His right hand.

Every believer needs to understand the value of the Hand of God in thier lives. David records that it is at God's right hand that pleasures are found. The pleasures you desire are not found in any other place except before God. God is able to give you and me the pleasures we desire in life. God is the Source of Life and thus it's important you understand that only in His Prescence can you obtain the good things of this life.

Live life with the understanding that your times are in His hand. When we walk with that perspective you will appreciate that God has everything in control. God knows the seasons of your life and only trusting in Him will empower His hand in all your times. Trusting in God allows one to relax knowing that God's hand is able to keep one and to save from trouble.

Desire to see the right hand of God at work in your life and you will say like the psalmist that the hand of God does valiantly. May the hand of God contend for you and cause you to possess all that God has ordained for you.

Now is....

Everyday I seek to share something that I have learnt through the daily reading. I make a choice to discipline myself not to write too much as we inundated with a lot of reading material. Feel free to add comments because that way we share and thus encourage one another to grow into the fullness of Christ. Today I am amazed at the fact that God will always remember His covenant and fulfill the promise. I want to list five words in the order they appear in one scripture that showed God is at work in our lives. Remembered : My God will never forget me. To be delayed is not to be denied as God will surely remember. God spoke and said to Sarah that He would return at the appointed time; at the right season!!! I do believe that we are in a season where we will see God begin to act on the promises that seem forgotten. Or better put in another way there is a resurrection of seemingly forgotten prophecies that is about to take place. Dry bones are beginning to take shape. Listened : No longer ...

Blessing or ....

To live well is one thing we all desire. I have never met anyone who did not want to live well. By living well for some people it means helping others. For others it means having a successful business. Yet for others it means travelling the world. I have discovered that it is not money that empowers but the blessing of God that empowers. Money is simply one of the many ways that the effects of the blessing may show up. Many times today in society we confuse money with being blessed yet people like Mother Teresa did not flaunt money but her life still is blessing many people round the world. The book of Deuteronomy has challenged me to desire to be blessed. Anyone who has walked with the blessing of God in their live has seen doors open that are a struggle for others. Yesterday I wrote about obedience. What obedience opens our lives to is the operation of the blessing. By choosing to obey the Word we are choosing to open our lives to be blessed. The purpose of being blessed is not self ...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
