Day 160
Reading: Psalms 101:1 - Psalms 108:13
The Psalms are filled with not only desires of deliverance or cries of hope but also with declarations. We have consistently seen in the Word of God that the words one speaks have an effect on their lives. God spoke and created, Genesis 1. The words you speak are creating either good or evil. Thus I found it interesting to study different statements that were declarations not only of happenings but also resolutions of service to God. You also find that the psalmist made resolutions of service to God. Today as I read the Word I kept reflecting on the statements that were resolutions. Here are a few resolutions that the Book of Psalms reveals to us.
- I will declare the decree Psalms 2:7. The Psalmist understood the power of declarations. Learn to decree the Word of God over your life Job 22:28.
- I will not fear Psalms 3:6. Resolve that fear will not be a part of you. Set it within yourself that fear will not place in your life.
- I will live a peaceable life Psalms 4:8. Many today are filled with anxiety. High blood pressure rates are on the rise because many don't go to bed or through the day with a peaceful attitude enveloping their being.
- I will praise God Psalms 9:1. Determine within yourself that your life will be filled with praises to God. Let praises arise from within you constantly. Sing to the Lord continuously.
- I will bless the Lord Psalms 16:7. Purpose to always bless the Lord. Let your thoughts be filled with blessings of all the goodness of God in your life. Remember to bless God because it is He who forgives your iniquity, heals your diseases, delivers you from destruction, crowns you with loving kindness and mercy and God also satisfies your mouth with good things Psalms 103:1-5.
- I will be a person of prayer Psalms 18:3. Resolve that in every situation you will call on the Name of God. Let prayer be made to the Lord Almighty and not to idols or men.
- I will walk in integrity Psalms 26:11. Make the choice to walk uprightly before God. Today we live in a world where corruption gathered pace and is destroying not just nations but families. Only a walk of integrity will raise God's people above the storms of evil. Joseph walked in integrity going to prison because he would not touch Potiphar's wife. Potiphar who threw him in prison would soon be under his command. Chose to behave wisely Psalms. 101:2.
- I will be a giver Psalms 66:15. Don't go before God without an offering to Him. Learn to give to God not the remains but a sacrificial gift.
- I will meditate and remember the works of God Psalms 77:12. Don't forget the exploits of God. Read them, study them, remember them for they will build your hope in God.
- I will set nothing wicked before me Psalms 101:3. We move in the sight of what is before our vision. Determine that nothing wicked will captivate your vision. Be focussed on only pleasing the Lord. Be like Job who declared that he had made a covenant with his eyes- he would not see evil Job 31:1. Covetousness is a result of looking at what is not yours rightfully and desiring it.
Resolve to live a life pleasing to God.
