Secrets of 3 Kings

Day 128

Reading: 2 Chronicles 26:1 - 2 Chronicles 29:36

God desires the very best for our lives. This desire is continually expressed in the Bible. The promises of God are sure and certain. Understand that you were not born for failure, sickness or pain. Joy, peace, successful, prosperous are words we use to describe how we would like our lives to be viewed as. God is more than willing for us to have His best. The question is are we willing to meet the requirements God has placed for us to enjoy His benefits. Today we look at 3 kings who were great before God.

Uzziah became king when his father Amaziah died. His father had waged war and brought the gods of the Edomites to be worshipped. Just imagine how ridiculous Amaziah was. He worshipped the gods of the people he just defeated. His son, Uzziah was different. He sought God and as long as the king sought God he was assured of prosperity. There is a lesson to learn here that we need to understand that as long as we are seeking God we access prosperity. Prosperity is not money. God's design for prosperity is more than money. The word used here translated as to prosper is the Hebrew word' tsaleach'. It means to break out, to be profitable, to be meet all giving an idea of a successful venture. Child of God as long as you are seeking God understand God desires to release to you the forces needful to you succeeding in the endeavours of life.

Uzziah also teaches that we understand the place of humility. Don't allow power to get into your head. Don't be swayed by the good things happening that you forget God hates pride. Uzziah forgot his place and moved boundaries that God had set. He forgot what happens when a strange offering is made to God. The sons of Aaron died because they offered what God did not authorise. Uzziah became a leper because of pride. Pride caused him to forget who made him prosper in all he did. A king with a great destiny, who reigned for 52 years died a leper because of pride. Don't die a leper in life.

Jotham the son of Uzziah become king at his father's death. Jotham the bible tells us became mighty because he prepared his ways before God. Do you place your ways before God? Is God involved in your plans? The secret to becoming mighty is to involve the Almighty.

Hezekiah as king restored the worship of God to the nation. His father Ahaz had closed the temple doors and turned the nation to worship idols. Hezekiah became a revivalist who restored the worship of God. Hezekiah restored worship to the order of David. As David had described and stated worship was to be conducted Hezekiah instituted that. Notice that before the temple was cleansed the priests and Levites had to be cleansed. Child of God before serving in a church do you take time to make you sure you are right before God?

God is raising men and women who will restore the worship of God in the land. Stand up and be counted as one who opens the doors of the House of God and not those who close the doors or worship idols.

Now is....

Everyday I seek to share something that I have learnt through the daily reading. I make a choice to discipline myself not to write too much as we inundated with a lot of reading material. Feel free to add comments because that way we share and thus encourage one another to grow into the fullness of Christ. Today I am amazed at the fact that God will always remember His covenant and fulfill the promise. I want to list five words in the order they appear in one scripture that showed God is at work in our lives. Remembered : My God will never forget me. To be delayed is not to be denied as God will surely remember. God spoke and said to Sarah that He would return at the appointed time; at the right season!!! I do believe that we are in a season where we will see God begin to act on the promises that seem forgotten. Or better put in another way there is a resurrection of seemingly forgotten prophecies that is about to take place. Dry bones are beginning to take shape. Listened : No longer ...

Blessing or ....

To live well is one thing we all desire. I have never met anyone who did not want to live well. By living well for some people it means helping others. For others it means having a successful business. Yet for others it means travelling the world. I have discovered that it is not money that empowers but the blessing of God that empowers. Money is simply one of the many ways that the effects of the blessing may show up. Many times today in society we confuse money with being blessed yet people like Mother Teresa did not flaunt money but her life still is blessing many people round the world. The book of Deuteronomy has challenged me to desire to be blessed. Anyone who has walked with the blessing of God in their live has seen doors open that are a struggle for others. Yesterday I wrote about obedience. What obedience opens our lives to is the operation of the blessing. By choosing to obey the Word we are choosing to open our lives to be blessed. The purpose of being blessed is not self ...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
