Heaven sent Judges

Day 69

Reading: Judges 1:1- 3:31

God's love for people is undeniable. His desire to see His people live within the boundaries of His inheritance is unquestionable. God's request is that His people walk in obedience wholeheartedly to Him. As I have been reading the Bible, I have been convicted afresh of God's love for me, convicted of His plans for me desiring to only please Him. The Book of Judges shows the leaders of the people. Judges who led the children of Israel out of captivity.

The children of Israel weren't able to evict all the occupants of the land as directed. Instead, we see that they stayed on and soon became a snare to the worship of the children of Israel. They soon were worshipping idols. In the midst of this is a sad portion of scripture, that a generation arose that didn't know God or the work of God. It is a sad state of affairs when a generation doesn't know God. Today's world has a generation like this and I believe God is raising judges who will manifest His judgement against the enemies of God. Judges who will deliver the people from the plunder of the enemy. The church is about to see a new move that will shift the status quo.  We have been under too long our time is here.

Why did God raise men and women who led Israel out of captivity? Because the people cried out to God they received a deliverer!! Until we cry to God we can't see the answer we desire. 'Charles, hunger for God and you will see great things.'

The first judge we meet is the nephew of Caleb, Othniel. His name means lion of God, my season is God or the hour of God. He helped deliver the people from the captivity of a king whose name means the blackness of iniquities. The hour of God is here and it will judge the blackness of iniquities that have held the church down. I believe God is raising lions that will roar the sound of the Kingdom. When a lion roars the everything in its vicinity understands the sound to be one of staking territory. A lion doesn't roar to say hello. It's a warning to enemies that this is my land I will fight for it.

Memory Verse: Judges 2:16

Decree:

Father, I rejoice in You. Thank You that You are a Deliverer. I rejoice in knowing that Your love never ceases even when I am in wrong. I decree that I am rising up against every enemy. I receive a fresh baptism of the Holy Spirit to contend with my enemies. I decree that the grace to lead nations from captivity to liberty is falling afresh on me. I declare that I am a carrier of the freedom. I declare that I am a battle-axe for God. I declare that victory is mine in Jesus name in every arena of life. Amen.

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
