Take Your Inheritance!

Day 66

Reading: Josh. 15:1- Josh. 18:26

'You have a share in the inheritance God has set for you, Charles.' When the Holy Spirit told me that as I read today's portion of scripture my mind quickly asked what do I need to see the manifestation of what God has bestowed on me. The Holy Spirit has been emphasising to me that God has set an inheritance for His children and it's our responsibility to take it. Can you imagine if the children of Israel didn't leave Egypt on instruction? Many today aren't seeing the inheritance God has for them because they are not willing to pay the price to possess the promise. Obey the instructions of God and you will enter the place He has designed for you. To believe God wholeheartedly is paying the price because many times our minds are clogged with unbelief and doubt.

Caleb received a portion of land. Caleb didn't just get a claim amongst his tribe. Caleb was from the tribe of Judah. However, because he believed God was able to give the children of Israel the land while ten other spies thought otherwise swaying the opinion of the people to doubt God, Caleb received a portion of land assigned to him. He was singled out for a blessing because he believed God was able. Believe and you will see the hand of God single you out with blessings.

Fathers look at how Caleb's daughter related with Caleb. She could ask and receive. The lack of a father-daughter relationship is one reason for society's breakdown. Daughters looking for love in the wrong places because fathers have not been there to show the love of a father. Fathers reach out to your daughters and families will experience healing.

Machir, the firstborn of Manasseh received an allotment because he was a man of war. War for what is your inheritance in God. The enemy is not going to just roll over. You have to fight for what is yours. As long as we remain here on earth we must contend for what is ours. Yes, I know in this dispensation we live in many will refute that statement, however, keep walking and living the realisation of the need to fight will dawn on you when nothing is working right. Fight for your inheritance. Go to the courts of Heaven and plead your case.

Another lesson I learned today was that as I keep growing stronger I will unsettle my enemies. As the children of Israel grew they became stronger and made the inhabitants of the land slaves. Whatever has mastered you is about to serve you!

Memory Verse: Josh. 18:3

Decree:

Father, I thank You for my inheritance in You. Thank You for what You have assigned to me as my inheritance. Health, joy, fruitfulness, peace, abundance, favour, progress, breakthroughs in every arena of life. I decree that I am possessing it. I align myself with Your Word to possess all that is mine. I decree that my hands are strengthened for war against every enemy on my promised land. I decree that I am growing stronger and every enemy, that is fear, lack, illness, failure, poverty, joblessness, barrenness, or stagnation will bow in Jesus name. Amen.

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
