The Key

Day 183

Reading: Isaiah 22:1 - Isaiah 25:12

Inside the wardrobe in your home are different types of robes that you wear. Each is suited to a particular purpose. You don't wear a dressing gown to the office. God promises to dress us in the appropriate robe for our purpose. In the midst of the judgement that the earth is facing God is about to dress men and women for the task at hand.

The robe of God comes with its blessings and responsibility. Upon your shoulder is the 'key of David'. This key is not a physical key though it will give you access to dimensions in the physical that you wouldn't have had without it. This key is what made David have victories that were not of the ordinary. What is this key? Before discussing what it is, notice it is placed on shoulders. That implies it must be carried and comes with responsibility.

David firstly was a worshipper. The change of attire that you are about to undergo will see you enter a new realm that is tied to your lifestyle as a worshipper. David introduced to the House of God worship. In the Tabernacle of Moses, there was no praise offered continually. David introduced worshippers who would continually sing to God. To access this key what you need is to develop a lifestyle of worship. God is restoring the heart of worship. The devil is after your worship.

Another element to this key is that of prayer. David loved to pray. Is prayer a part of your lifestyle? I don't mean your crying to God for your needs but a communion with God about His agenda. David was not interested in HIs agenda. When he wanted to build the Temple of God he consulted God to know His agenda. Many times we are in problems in life because we have not sought the face of God to know His agenda or program.

The key of David also was his disposition towards the enemies of God. David was fearless in his approach to Goliath. He saw every enemy as fodder for God. The key of David in your life will require a mindset of fearlessness and total absolute trust in God.  Get set to open doors that no one can shut as God is glorified through you.

Memory Verse: Isaiah 22:22

Decree:

Isaiah 25:1
O Lord, You are my God. I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, for You have done wonderful things; Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. (italics mine)

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
