Advantages of Walking with God..

I view everyday as a step towards destiny fulfilment. As the days become weeks, months and into the year that is 2010 it's important that we take each step in the right direction. Many times we encounter regret because of an error on our part. The best way to avoid regret is to be careful when taking steps. Yes, life is full of risks and many times only the risk takers enjoy life in its fullness, but we still have to take calculated risks. Somebody asked me why I emphasis the Word in the blog often. Simple, the Word is life. Without the Word of God we are but nothing.

Today we see another reason why we need the Word. Job understood the power of the light that is found in having an intimate relationship with God. The Word of God illuminates our darkness. Job testified that when God's lamp shone over him then he succeed in everything that he did. Studying the Word gives us light that illuminates our darkness. The Bible is God's manual for life and many people are living life without reading the manual which gives us the modus operandi for life.

Job also states that his relationship with God resulted in receiving friendly counsel. Is it any wonder that in the later end of the book of Job we see God speaking and correcting him? Let me ask a question, whom do you seek counsel from first when faced with a challenge? Let God's counsel be the foundation for any counsel you will get in life. Godly counsel is based on the Word.

A third advantage is that obedience to the Word of God leads to prosperity. Many people are seeking for pleasure before obeying. God cannot be short changed. I encourage you to seek the Word, obey the Word and watch God manifest on your behalf. I would rather have the Author of Life with me than face live without God. Poverty begins when you disown God by not obeying. Partial obedience is not obedience.

I urge that you take every step in life with the Word of God as the anchor. Your security should be on the foundation of the Word and not anything else. Stand on the Word, walk by the Word, live by the Word, engage life by the Word and God will manifest for you as He cannot fail His Word.

Now is....

Everyday I seek to share something that I have learnt through the daily reading. I make a choice to discipline myself not to write too much as we inundated with a lot of reading material. Feel free to add comments because that way we share and thus encourage one another to grow into the fullness of Christ. Today I am amazed at the fact that God will always remember His covenant and fulfill the promise. I want to list five words in the order they appear in one scripture that showed God is at work in our lives. Remembered : My God will never forget me. To be delayed is not to be denied as God will surely remember. God spoke and said to Sarah that He would return at the appointed time; at the right season!!! I do believe that we are in a season where we will see God begin to act on the promises that seem forgotten. Or better put in another way there is a resurrection of seemingly forgotten prophecies that is about to take place. Dry bones are beginning to take shape. Listened : No longer ...

Blessing or ....

To live well is one thing we all desire. I have never met anyone who did not want to live well. By living well for some people it means helping others. For others it means having a successful business. Yet for others it means travelling the world. I have discovered that it is not money that empowers but the blessing of God that empowers. Money is simply one of the many ways that the effects of the blessing may show up. Many times today in society we confuse money with being blessed yet people like Mother Teresa did not flaunt money but her life still is blessing many people round the world. The book of Deuteronomy has challenged me to desire to be blessed. Anyone who has walked with the blessing of God in their live has seen doors open that are a struggle for others. Yesterday I wrote about obedience. What obedience opens our lives to is the operation of the blessing. By choosing to obey the Word we are choosing to open our lives to be blessed. The purpose of being blessed is not self ...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
