Praise

Human beings are either givers of praise or pursuers of praise. We find today in society that mankind is either seeking the praise of men or giving praise to whom it belongs. Just like a railway line humanity is in two camps that run parallel to each other.

I use the psalms to help me maintain my focus on praising God always. I believe that we are made to praise God always. The psalms are the best expressions to help us in developing and living a lifestyle of praise.

Why did God call David a man after my heart? Praise. David was a man who understood the power of praise. God inhabits the praises of His people. Praise creates an atmosphere for God to operate in. To be self-centred is to deny the opportunity for God to show up in our lives.

Make 2010 a year that is filled with praise to God. Let your mouth be filled with His praises. Extol God wherever and whenever and see how He turns situations for you.

Everyday I seek to share something that I have learnt through the daily reading. I make a choice to discipline myself not to write too much as we inundated with a lot of reading material. Blessing or ....

To live well is one thing we all desire. I have never met anyone who did not want to live well. By living well for some people it means helping others. For others it means having a successful business. Yet for others it means travelling the world. I have discovered that it is not money that empowers but the blessing of God that empowers. Money is simply one of the many ways that the effects of the blessing may show up. Many times today in society we confuse money with being blessed yet people like Mother Teresa did not flaunt money but her life still is blessing many people round the world. The book of Deuteronomy has challenged me to desire to be blessed. Anyone who has walked with the blessing of God in their live has seen doors open that are a struggle for others. Yesterday I wrote about obedience. What obedience opens our lives to is the operation of the blessing. By choosing to obey the Word we are choosing to open our lives to be blessed. Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness.
