The Final Arbiter

Whose report will you believe? My mind is made up that I will hold the Word of God as the final arbiter of life. The bible is a collection not of fables but it's laden with promises that reveal the mind of God. The bible has not just promises but also shows us the history of God's intention for mankind. As I have been reading the bible I have come to see God's love and mercy towards humanity. I want to list reasons why you should have the bible as the final arbiter of your life.
  • The Word of God is creative.
  • The Word of God is powerful.
  • The bible contains promises that are an invitation of God.
  • The bible is an offer that elevates us from bondage to liberty; subscribe to it.
  • The bible reveals the thoughts of God that are life transforming.
  • The Word of God is prescriptive providing healing.
  • The Word of God is a map of the future; describing our destiny.
  • The Word of God reveals the ways of life that empower us to possess destiny.
  • The Word of God is the best food for the soul, providing therapy to the seeking soul.
  • The Word of God is an invitation to a glorious life that is purposeful.
  • Trusting the God of the Word activates the Word to work effectively in our lives.
  • The Word of God is light, brighter than the Sun, illuminating the darkness that life's circumstances sometimes creates.
  • The Word of God is instructive; a compass for the map that the bible already is.
  • The Word is the best prayer guide ever written!!
God is looking for a person who trembles at His Word. Do you want to attract God? Have a contrite humble disposition to life and hold the Word in the highest regard and see the God of the Word move towards you.

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
