Shortest, Middle and Longest.

Life can be viewed through many angles. Every view point may not be plausible to everyone but everyone is entitled to a view point. The Bible is a record of God's view point for life. I find that the bible writers offer you and I an opportunity to see how God desires to relate with us. The bible is God's view point revealed to us through many people.

In the Psalms, we find three consecutive chapters that are peculiar. In Psalms 117 we have the shortest psalm in the bible, two verses. Not only does it give praise to God but I find it interesting to who it is written to: the Gentiles. This psalm is not written to a few but to the majority. Praise is not for the few but for the majority!!

Did you know where the middle verse in the bible is found? Psalms 118:8 "It is better to trust in the Lord Than to put confidence in man." I find it amazing that the middle of the road with God is to put your trust in Him. The essence of God's heart for human is that we place our trust in Him. This scripture has made me ask one question; what is at the heartbeat of your life?

The longest chapter in the bible is Psalm 119. This is one chapter filled with encouragement to study the Word, live the Word, testify the Word, keep the Word, and most of all details excellencies found in the Word. May the Word be the yardstick over your life.

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
