Wisdom

Life is unbearable when lived foolishly! Life without wisdom is not life but misery. A friend once told me that the key to life is found in the pursuit of wisdom. Today mankind is consumed with the pursuit of knowledge. Your salary may be determined by being clever but wealth belongs to the wise. Yet we see many people who have aced their academics but have failed in life. I may not be very advanced in age but one thing I am sure is that wisdom is the key to life.

The book of Proverbs is a compilation of the wise words of Solomon. In reading the first few chapters we meet encounter the phrase "Wisdom is the principal thing Prov 4:7a". Wisdom is the right application of knowledge. The proper understanding of facts-knowledge- opens the door to wisdom. Wisdom elevates one above the norm. Wisdom has the potential to lift one from the storms of life catapulting one into a trajectory of destiny fulfillment. Wisdom has the power to break any barrier one may encounter. Wisdom is the solution to any challenge one may face.

In 2010, I have made up my mind to pursue wisdom. Wisdom will affect even my associations. As I pursue wisdom life will give to me what belongs to me. Join me in pursuing wisdom, another dimension of who God is.

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Blessing or ....

To live well is one thing we all desire. I have never met anyone who did not want to live well. By living well for some people it means helping others. For others it means having a successful business. Yet for others it means travelling the world. I have discovered that it is not money that empowers but the blessing of God that empowers. Money is simply one of the many ways that the effects of the blessing may show up. Many times today in society we confuse money with being blessed yet people like Mother Teresa did not flaunt money but her life still is blessing many people round the world. The book of Deuteronomy has challenged me to desire to be blessed. Anyone who has walked with the blessing of God in their live has seen doors open that are a struggle for others. Yesterday I wrote about obedience. What obedience opens our lives to is the operation of the blessing. By choosing to obey the Word we are choosing to open our lives to be blessed. The purpose of being blessed is not self ...

Your Identity and Temptation

Day 245 Reading: Matthew 1:1 - Matthew 4:25 A new beginning is here. A new day; the new season is upon us. As we begin this part of this journey may I encourage you to know that your heart will be refreshed as we study the Word. May hope come alive in you. The Book of Matthew was written primarily to the Jews who were expecting a Messiah. The Old Testament contained promises of a Messiah who would save the people from their enemies and set a Kingdom that would be without end. Matthew in writing this gospel sought to show the reader how some of those prophecies aligned with Jesus.  As I read the portion of scripture today a thought struck my mind about Jesus, the temptations and the tempter. Satan wasn't tempting Jesus just using His needs but the enemy was using the same tactic he used in Eden. The devil doesn't have new tricks. In the Garden of Eden, he made Eve to question the Word and thereby her identity. When she conversed with the serpent the question of ...
