The Call

The success of 2010 is dependant on me and not the environment. Many times we live life through the eyes of "if" but I have been convinced that that is not the case when certain criteria is fulfilled. I pray that as you go through the year you will pursue destiny with a passion to see your destiny fulfilled.

I find the book of Isaiah very interesting. This is one book that I find very encouraging. We begin by encountering God's call to reason with Him. The call of God is to enable one to come to the place of promise. 2010 will be a majestic year for those willing and obedient to the purposes and intentions of God. I believe that without willingness and obedience one cannot enter into the plan, purpose, or destiny that God has planned for us.

In the midst of this we see Isaiah undergo a very personal moment. Not only was he already functioning in his place of calling but in Isaiah 6 we see a moment of transformation. As I read these words it became clear to me that God is asking the question "Whom shall I send and who will go for Us? Isa 6:8". We live in a world that could easily fit the description of the first 5 chapters in Isaiah, yet God is looking for someone who can represent Him. The question is one of willingness and obedience to the revealed will that determines how far one can go.

I want to encourage you that as you go through 2010 walk as one who is willing to pursue God, and live a life of obedience to the purposes of God. Humble yourself before the Creator, and watch Him elevate you into greatness. Seek the purpose of God and 2010 will be filled with an overflow of the blessings of God.

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
