Possess the Land

Happy New Year!! I sincerely hope and pray that you entered 2010 in style. Well I most certainly did. Full of expectancy and celebration as I cross over into a new year. Many people begin the year by taking inventory of their lives to determine the course they will run through the year. Just as a marathon runner first goes over the route to determine the requirements we need to examine our lives to determine the resources we need to succeed. Amongst the resources we need is one important quality called COURAGE. I believe we should be courageous to possess the land/year set before us. As I pondered on the many qualities I need to call upon within me to succeed and accomplish all I have for this year an acronym dropped into my heart for COURAGE.

C for Creativity: One of the greatest hindrances to progress is the lack of creativity. Many in society think they are not creative and are quite famous for speaking words filled with "I CANT". What this simple phrase does is block the mind from seeing possibilities which is what drives creative mindsets. In 2010 drop terminology that hinders you from seeing the possibilities. Don't just see the giants, see how your God can take them out.

O for Order: Establish order in your life.Be accountable to an authority who will spur you on to destiny. Accountability begets success. People without order are opening the door to failure. Have a plan for progress for this year. A plan helps establish order in that direction follows the course laid down in the plan.

U for Understanding: Without understanding failure is guaranteed. Solomon was considered wise yet what he asked God was for understanding to guide God's people. Understanding will unlock doors of opportunities. Its only when we understand that we can comprehend which enables one to attain.

R is for Relationship: Make it a priority that in 2010 you will not be a one who only has acquaintances but is a friend. The world is lonely and it takes courage to befriend anyone. Hold onto the family you have. They will cushion you as you walk through life. Relationships when helpful acts as levers that empower one to progress.

A for Aptness: Be willing, ready and prepared in your mind to take the necessary risks to achieve your destination. Let your thinking be suited to your purpose. Don't live in a fantasy world of the past or future. Have the fortitude of mind to see your dreams become alive.

G for Gusty: The world needs leaders at every sphere of life who are strong but full of heart. Be full of zest, hearty and vigour in your approach in life. Courageous people are robust people. be sturdy in your living in 2010 and watch the fruits of greatness appear before you.

E for Excellence: Pursue excellence in everything about you. Don't let average become your name or friend. Average is accompanied by mediocrity always. Just because they named average through your grades in school you can make the choice to be known as excellent. Make the choice to be numbered as one who is excellent in their deeds or words.

In 2010, be a person of COURAGE. AS you tackle each day may you be filled with courageous thoughts of possibilities. Let the Word of God encourage you to be a person of courage. It takes courage to be different and not like everyone else. You require courage to be who you are called to be. Walk through 2010 as a lion walks majestically through the jungle knowing that with each step all tremble. Be bold about your approach to life in 2010.

Now is....

Everyday I seek to share something that I have learnt through the daily reading. I make a choice to discipline myself not to write too much as we inundated with a lot of reading material. Feel free to add comments because that way we share and thus encourage one another to grow into the fullness of Christ. Today I am amazed at the fact that God will always remember His covenant and fulfill the promise. I want to list five words in the order they appear in one scripture that showed God is at work in our lives. Remembered : My God will never forget me. To be delayed is not to be denied as God will surely remember. God spoke and said to Sarah that He would return at the appointed time; at the right season!!! I do believe that we are in a season where we will see God begin to act on the promises that seem forgotten. Or better put in another way there is a resurrection of seemingly forgotten prophecies that is about to take place. Dry bones are beginning to take shape. Listened : No longer ...

Blessing or ....

To live well is one thing we all desire. I have never met anyone who did not want to live well. By living well for some people it means helping others. For others it means having a successful business. Yet for others it means travelling the world. I have discovered that it is not money that empowers but the blessing of God that empowers. Money is simply one of the many ways that the effects of the blessing may show up. Many times today in society we confuse money with being blessed yet people like Mother Teresa did not flaunt money but her life still is blessing many people round the world. The book of Deuteronomy has challenged me to desire to be blessed. Anyone who has walked with the blessing of God in their live has seen doors open that are a struggle for others. Yesterday I wrote about obedience. What obedience opens our lives to is the operation of the blessing. By choosing to obey the Word we are choosing to open our lives to be blessed. The purpose of being blessed is not self ...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
