Overflow in Giving

Day 27

Reading: Ex. 35:1- Ex. 37:29

God gives generously and thus instructed Moses on the offering to be received from the children of Israel towards the building of the tabernacle. God's condition was a willing heart. Learn to give willingly. Learn to give not under compulsion from sweet words spoken to loosen your purse strings. The offering that God required was specific. God will always instruct on what to give. Those who came to give were both willing and stirred to give to God. Giving requires a willing heart. Lord, may my heart be that of a giver.

The people gave so much it was more than enough. Today we rarely see believers give more than enough. I believe one of the reasons why this is the case is because God's people are not where they ought to be in financial terms. I find today that many of us believers are dealing with debt which has made many slaves to serving money to service bills. Another reason I believe we see so much lack in the giving of the believers is because many believers have lost faith in giving towards the needs of the gospel. This is because of gimmicks in the church scene towards offerings and also the use of money in the house of God. May God forgive me where I failed in proper stewardship of His resources either personally or for the House of God. Revelation in giving will answer every query we have of giving.

When God imparts the wisdom to fulfil a task He also releases the grace to teach others. Bezalel was not only anointed to build the tabernacle and all the required work, he also was given the ability to teach. Gifted artisans would through teaching become skilled.  God gives the wisdom and understanding to know how to do what is required to build His Tabernacle. There is wisdom in every facet of life that God is willing to give. May God anoint me with wisdom to build according to the pattern and teach others to do so.

Memory Verse: Ex. 35:21

Decree:

Father, I bow in worship at Your Throne. I decree that You are the Source of Wisdom. Lord, baptise me with wisdom. Wisdom for daily living, wisdom to build my life according to Your pattern, wisdom for marriage, wisdom for finances, wisdom for ministry, wisdom for leadership, wisdom that will bring light to nations, families, companies and mankind. I decree that from today my heart is a willing heart generous to provide for the purposes of furthering the Kingdom of God in Jesus name. Amen.

A better tomorrow

Everyone is hopeful for a better tomorrow. That's why we say "Good morning" at the start of the day. It's an indicator of the hope within that welcomes the dawning of a new day to bring better fortunes our way. God's mercies are new every morning and His compassion does not fail. When faced with adversity it becomes harder to see a better tomorrow, but resilient people are focused on the fact that trouble is only a comma in the sentence of life. At a time where fear has gripped many hearts because of various reasons, it is difficult to remain hopeful. Without hope, you cannot have the faith necessary to live. Faith is the substance of what is hoped for. Faith gives hope tangibility. To be without hope is to open the door of low living. Hopelessness is the start of damnation in life. You and I were born for a reason. We are not just statistics, making up numbers in any particular nation. You and I were born to reign in life. That situation that has so far made...

Lessons From A Parable

Day 259 Reading: Luke 14:1 - Luke 16:31 The thoughts that God has for you are too many to be counted. Jesus while speaking asked the disciples if they knew the number of hairs that fall off their head? Jesus told them that God is so interested in the minute details about us that He knows when one hair falls down. God is so detailed about our lives because He is good. When you embrace the goodness of God by understanding that God's love towards us is immeasurable. Whilst reading today's passages my heart was refreshed as I read a very famous parable featuring the prodigal son.   Jesus tells us of two sons and a father. The younger son asked for his inheritance and left home leaving the elder son and his father.  The younger went to a faraway land and wasted his life. He soon was dead broke, deserted by his new found friends and looking for a job. He soon was working for a farmer feeding his pigs. His job must have been so mundane with low pay as he ate the food the...

Absalom's Treachery

Day 91 Reading: 2 Sam. 14:1 - 2 Sam. 15:37 One of life's most painful lessons is the treachery of human beings. When family or friends hurt you and leave you grieving the pain is not the same as when someone out on the street does something wrong. The pain goes deeper and it's easy to become bitter. Absalom had fled from Israel knowing that he was a wanted man for the murder and revenge on Ammon his step-brother. Joab arranged for a wise woman to go see David and get him to forgive Absalom. The wise woman made David realise that he was not setting a godly example by exiling Absalom. The wise woman made David understand that God will not banish anyone but he will seek the person out. God will do everything in His power to restore the banished person. The wise woman was asking David not to forget the grace of God that enables one to enjoy forgiveness. David gets Absalom brought back to Jerusalem however for 2 years he didn't see him. Now, this was worse than ...
