Day 23

Reading: Ex. 21:1- Ex. 23:33

God loves order. The laws given to Moses reveal God's disposition towards order. The laws may have been on everything from day to day life however they reveal that God has sights on all that pertains our lives. The laws also show us how we are to behave towards God and one another. The laws reveal how much God hates unrighteousness.

Freedom from slavery was important to God. None of His children would be slaves forever unless it was willingly. As God created the earth in 6 days and rested on the 7th day,He desired that those in slavery also enjoy this principle of rest. Learn to walk in this principle in all matters. Understand the power of releasing others to their freedom. Understand the importance of rest to God. Even the land was to take a period of rest. This principle of rest has been missed by many and is it any wonder that many are broken. 

God expects that we deal with situations that may bring harm. The harmful ox that causes death would see the owner punished if the owner knew of this habit. How many habits are bringing death to me because I didn't deal with them? Deal with it before it deals with me!!

God believes in restitution. Thus we see in the laws that God expected if you did something and weren't careful and it caused harm you would cover the costs. Learn to be willing to pay your share load when paying the bill.

The law was about responsibility. The different laws being given would show people their expected responsibilities. The law was to show man that ultimately only God would save and that man cannot save Himself. Thus the idea of a town of refuge for those who commit murder without intent. Sin leads to death and our safety is only found in the Lord.

Purity is to be pursued and the price for any form of defilement whether physical or spiritual was known. A sorcerer was to be put to death.The number of believers today who are dabbling in witchcraft is unbelievable! Unnatural relations also were frowned upon by God. In a world where we are seeing many desiring, unnaturally the warning is clear. God hates what is classed as inordinate relationships. We are wired in a specific manner and anything that takes away from the God wired mode is to be removed. God loves you the person its the act He hates. God desires we live holy and calls His children holy.

Strangers were to be treated in a particular manner which would remind the children of Israel of their captivity in Egypt. Strangers were to be treated with dignity.  The children of God should never forget the feeling of being a stranger. Those who are classed as mourning in any way were to be treated with kindness. God has a special place for people in pain. The Father's love is important to God and anyone missing that is treated specially by God.

Lending money with interest was not allowed. If believers today understood this principle when dealing with money they would have better relationships with others. There are principles we need to learn in these laws that would enhance the believer's life. For example, return what you borrow before its too late. Lord forgive me for not returning anything I have borrowed. 

Cursing God and a ruler was one and the same rank. In a day where many don't respect rulers and abuse rulers how many are in need of mercy. Who are rulers? Rulers will be anyone sitting in authority. From husbands to the employer they are all rulers. 

Delay in giving to God is abhorred. Don't postpone giving to God. Give appropriately and you will encounter His blessings. God is interested in not just our giving to Him but also how to give to our enemies what is rightfully theirs. Today, the church is filled with people who are hurt because someone has what is theirs. We have brought enmity to the house of God and wonder why our prayers are unanswered. 

Truth is what we are to speak. Today in the world of fake news how many times have I pushed a story that was false? Lord forgive me. The pain of a false story is great and one to be avoided greatly. The world is in need of men and women who speak the truth.  God help me to stand and speak only the truth of others. In a world that's man eat man, be one who doesn't speak evil of others. Don't speak what is false to try to climb above others. Bribery is one of the greatest issues of today. How many have lost lives because of bribes? Lord forgive me and forgive the church for allowing bribery to become a part of life.

God and God alone is to be worshipped. God commanded that at least 3 times the children of God should all appear before Him and they were to always bring an offering. Learn to always have something to give to God. 

Serve God all the days of your life Charles. There are blessings that cannot be counted or accessed unless one serves God. God requires we serve Him by worshipping Him alone and also removing pillars to idols. Serve God and possessing the land of promise becomes easy and is increments.

Decree

Father, I thank You for Your love. I repent of the times I have walked before You in impurity. Forgive me for giving false reports many a time. I repent of the not walking by Your standards of holiness and purity. Lord I dedicate my life to You and ask that You sanctify me with Your Spirit that I may be a pleasing offering to You. Lord, I will serve you all the days of my life. I decree that as I serve God I will remove every pillar of an idol on the land You sends me to possess. I decree that God will bless my bread and water, remove shame from me; honour from God will cause my enemies to flee before me. God is causing me to possess the land of my promise. I decree that from today a change of ownership of the land of my promise in my career, business, ministry, marriage is coming to me. I decree that I am taking over for the glory of God in Jesus name. Amen
